Aleier FM1 EAM Chosen by Two More Universities to Replace Existing CMMS Systems

[NASDAQ: RFMI] (RFM), announces that two more institutions of higher learning have recently selected the Aleier FM1™ EAM Suite. In both instances announced today -- and in the majority of the new university clients Aleier has served over the past three years -- the Aleier FM1 EAM Suite replaces existing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) that simply do not work well in campus maintenance programs. The Aleier FM1 EAM suite, on the other hand, enables them to more effectively manage the broad range of campus assets and maintenance operations unique to college campuses which includes student housing, educational buildings and physical plants, sports facilities and landscaping, maintenance vehicles, and parts and supplies inventories.

The first university announced today will utilize the Aleier FM1 EAM Suite for their facilities maintenance management that spans a 360 acre campus and enrollment of over 12,000 students. Aleier asset management experts will assist in conducting an on-site asset survey and both Aleier and university personnel will be tapped to perform the FM1 EAM Suite software installation.

“This university’s former CMMS system was not integrated with their Oracle-based accounting system, making maintenance costs difficult to track and manage,” said Wayne Stargardt, director of marketing for Aleier. The university selected the FM1j interprise™ version of the Aleier FM1 EAM Suite which uses Oracle™ or any SQL database and the Oracle Application Server. As a result, FM1j interprise easily and rapidly integrates with the university’s Oracle-based accounting system.

Underscoring the importance of a user-friendly interface, Stargardt said, “This university also found the user interface of their former CMMS system so unfriendly and its web access so cumbersome that maintenance staff had discontinued using that system all-together. As a result, the information in their asset database was not being maintained and maintenance operations became very inefficient.” The university preferred the friendlier user interface and streamlined web accessibility of the Aleier FM1 EAM Suite to its former CMMS and compared to other vendors they evaluated.

The second university announced today will utilize the Aleier FM1 EAM Suite primarily for managing maintenance of their dormitories and other residential buildings that house approximately 12,000 students. “In large part, this university chose FM1j interprise because their former CMMS lacked key workorder functionality they needed to effectively manage their housing maintenance,” Stargardt said. When implemented, the workorder, scheduling, and parts inventory management functionality of Aleier FM1j interprise will help the university more efficiently manage workorders.

The overall implementation timeline for both universities is a relatively short three months, and includes everything from asset survey to software integration, implementation and then staff training and roll-out. As a result, the universities will begin minimizing asset life-cycle costs and reducing overall maintenance costs in a shorter time-frame than with other vendors.
